An Arabic Kitchen in Johor Bahru Since 2013
کيسه کامي
Wadi Hana Elarabi has been cooking in Taman Desa Rahmat since 2013 — long enough that a good number of our regulars first came in as students and now bring their own children.
One Region, Not One Street
مطبخناThree of our rice dishes come from three different countries. That range is the whole point of the kitchen.

Basmati marinated in the house spice mix and cooked in a tandoor over charcoal. The smoke is the dish — it is what people mean when they ask for Nasi Arab.

Cooked in one pot with aubergine and potato, then turned upside down onto the plate. The name means "upside down".

The everyday rice of Egypt, cooked with ghee and Arab spices, and served with soup and the spicy tomato chilli sauce. The Fatta and the Umm Ali we finish on are Egyptian too.
Built for a Whole Table
الطاولةMost of what leaves this kitchen is meant to be shared.
The dulang sets arrive on one tray for four or five people: mixed Mandy and Makloba rice, lamb and chicken, fattoush, and a jug of mint tea. It is the way these meals are eaten at home, and it is the reason the dining room gets loud on a Friday night.

مطبخناWe are on Jalan Pembangunan, a few minutes from Tampoi and Angsana Mall. Walk in, order on WhatsApp, or have it brought to you on Grab or foodpanda. The room seats families, and on most evenings that is exactly who is in it.
